Having crashed three desktop systems by four (still don't know how), my parents knew that I would one day have a future in technology. They totally saw it coming from miles away, as I developed a passion for technology in my years leading up to secondary school. I self-taught myself basic programming in the summer of 2014 by reading a few chapters of The C Programming Language textbook. Soon after, I found the Linux kernel source for my mobile phone, and my tinkering lead me down a path of open source development.
